A child living in a refuge needs you this summer.

This summer, more than 180 women and their children will flee an abuser and arrive, exhausted and in shock, at our refuges.

For the children, the school holidays aren’t a break. They’re a chance for escape with their mum and finally feel safe.

But this summer they deserve more than safety – they deserve the freedom to laugh, play and just be a child again.

Your support can help them enjoy their first fun day out with their mum without constant fear and worry. Or help their mum buy the kit they need for starting at a new school in September – and set them on the path to freedom and a happy future.

£5.50 a month could give a child a series of therapeutic play sessions, helping them slowly but surely feel safe again.

£11.50 a month could pay to train a new volunteer Refuge Helpline Advisor every year, giving them the calm, reassuring confidence and skills to be a lifeline for women.

£15 a month could provide essentials for mums and their children arriving in our refuges. Many families arrive with little more than the clothes they are wearing. Your gift could go towards providing food, toiletries and cleaning products so they can feel clean, safe and comfortable from the moment they walk through the refuge door.

£67 a month could pay for a woman’s first night in a refuge each month, giving her the comfort of a freshly made bed in her own bedroom – a safe place where she can finally breathe, away from her abusive partner.

£100 a month could pay for a programme of activities for every child in one refuge this summer, including art sessions, sports days and cooking clubs, helping them all to rebuild their lives and enjoy new friendships.

£19 could pay for a call to the Helpline, supporting a woman as she takes her first step to safety and a life free from fear.

£25 could pay for essentials like food supplies, toiletries and cleaning products to help a family stay safe and healthy after arriving in a refuge with nothing.

£44 could pay for a taxi to help a woman and her children safely escape to a refuge.

£67 could pay for a woman and her children's first night in a refuge, giving them a safe place where they can finally breathe, away from her abusive partner.

£80 could pay for a whole day out at the seaside, an aquarium or zoo for a mum and her children, including transport, lunch and more - so they can enjoy freedom like never before.

£105 could give a child all the equipment they need so they’re ready to start a new school in September, including a new P.E. kit, books, pencil case, calculator and pens. With everything they need, they can hold their head high in every class and thrive.
